Who I am

I’m Jerwin Babatugon, a software developer based in the Philippines. I build and maintain web applications that businesses rely on day to day, and I design automations that take repetitive manual work off people’s plates. My focus is practical: software and workflows that hold up in real use, not demos.

I’m currently a Software Developer at M Lhuillier Financial Services, working on internal financial systems with Next.js, React, Node.js and NestJS. Before that I spent over two years as a front-end developer at Medspecialized, building and maintaining applications for the company and its sister businesses, and I completed an intensive software engineering training program at Vauldex. Today I’m extending that experience into AI automation — using n8n, Apify, APIs and AI models to connect the tools a business already uses and cut out the steps people shouldn’t have to do by hand.

  • Building the frontend for the Disbursement Application revamp — an internal system that disburses funds to divisions and distributes payouts to people by their assigned division — working primarily in Next.js and React.
  • Delivered a cancellation flow as an enhancement to the Billing System, a services-billing application comparable to utility billing such as electricity or water.
  • Working on the reprinting logic for pawnshop transactions.
  • Coordinating with backend developers on features that depend on backend APIs (Node.js / NestJS, MySQL), and helping investigate and fix backend issues found during QA.
  • Coordinating with the team that handles GCP deployments when deployment or infrastructure setup needs their involvement.
